Data you are free to cite
Two maintained datasets built from primary sources, because a comparison is only useful when the underlying information can be checked. Every entry carries the date it was last checked against the organiser's or provider's own page, and where a provider publishes no price we record that rather than estimating. Cite them, quote them, or use them as a starting point and check the sources yourself. If you find an error, tell us and we will correct it and re-date the entry.
Research programmes and what they cost
Paid programmes and selective free programmes in one table, with pricing recorded only where the provider publishes it, and the sourced fact where they do not.
UK essay competitions
Free essay competitions open to sixth formers, with eligibility, format, prizes and annual cycles, each checked against the organiser's own page. The August 2026 pass found two host pages had moved and one Cambridge prize was not running this year.

Colours
Typefaces
Headings are set in Playfair Display, display lines in Cormorant Garamond, and body text in Lato. All three are open-source and self-hosted on this site. You do not need them to write about us; they are listed so that anything you produce alongside our logo can match rather than approximate.
Using the logo
Leave clear space on all sides of at least the height of the mark. Do not reproduce the full logo narrower than about 120px on screen or 30mm in print, or the mark alone below about 24px, at which point it stops being legible. Prefer the SVG.
Please do not
- Recolour the logo or the mark, including into a single flat colour that is not one of ours
- Stretch, condense, rotate, outline, or add shadows, gradients or effects
- Rebuild the wordmark in a different typeface
- Place the dark logo on a dark or busy background where it loses contrast; use the light version
- Crop the mark out of the wordmark to make a new lockup
- Imply endorsement, partnership or accreditation that does not exist
